The Day the Whales Changed How I Trust

There is a moment in everyone’s journey with the Whales when you realise they are your greatest teachers.

For me, that day came quietly. Although when I reflect back, it wasn’t “out of the blue” and nothing ever really is.

Although what was unusual was that my entire family was with me - we were all together floating in the ocean on sea kayaks. It was July, off the coast of Byron Bay. I had been on my earnest awakening journey for about 13 years at that point, and was wondering how I answer the call of the Whales.

We could see the Whales coming very quickly towards us, and they were deliberate. It was probably a little dramatic, and then they arrived and began to swim in what I remember to be figure 8 formations underneath our kayaks. They arrived, stopped moving forwards, and swirled all around and underneath us.

My first instinct was to be very still, I think I held my breath. But the overall feeling was quietness and stillness, and everything is OK. There was a very deep feeling of trust, and the Whales were mirroring this trust, and truth.

In that space I began to understand something essential.

The Whales respond to your vibration, and energy. They respond to coherence, trust, and the willingness to be held by life.

Everything shifted for me that day. The calm stillness I felt when the Whales were steamrolling towards us, with the deep trust that everything was just fine, created a portal for me to feel deeper, and really trust that spirit has my back in a way I had never experienced before.

What is meant for you, will meet you when you are fully ready. When you are ready it will never go by you.

Even though I had always felt them with me, I must not have been ready to receive them in this way. It was a physical and spiritual activation that needed to happen when I was out of my day to day life. And the words dropped in through the top of my head “Taking women on healing retreats to the Humpback Whales”.

This is one of the lessons I carry into every Sacred Whale Retreat:

• Trust in The Whales, your spirit guides can only happen through action.

• It is cultivated through stillness, presence and honesty.

• When we trust, we create space for encounters that transform us from the inside out.

• Deepened relationships with the Whales and Spirit only continue to get deeper.

  
  

Many of the dreams I have with the Whales, have my family in them.

And my beautiful son and I have had three incredible encounters with dolphins together that were also “out of the blue”...

I trust 100% in the plan of spirit and the Whales - they have a view that we could never imagine, and only ever support us in love.
